How we protect your data in the iOS app

Your money data never leaves your phone
BUDGT works entirely offline. Your budget, expenses, and savings goals exist only on your device. We literally cannot access your financial information—even if we wanted to.

Everything you enter in BUDGT lives on your phone and nowhere else:
We have zero access to this data. It's protected by iOS encryption.
What we can see
To keep BUDGT working well, we collect some anonymous information that tells us nothing about your finances:
Usage patterns
Anonymous data that helps us improve the app:
- • How often you open the app
- • Which features you use most
- • How long you spend in different screens
- • Your country (never city or address)
Crash reports
When something goes wrong, we get:
- • Technical error details
- • Your device type and iOS version
- • What you were doing when it crashed
This helps us fix bugs quickly—no financial data is ever included.
Subscription status
To manage subscriptions, we track:
- • Whether you have an active subscription
- • Session data for subscription screens
Apple handles all payment processing—we never see your payment details.
Services we use
Three services help us run BUDGT. None of them can see your financial data:
Firebase services are based in the US. Data transfers comply with European regulations through Standard Contractual Clauses.

You're in complete control
Since your financial data lives on your device, you can manage it directly:

All your data is visible in the app
Export anytime
Settings → Export as CSV
Delete it all
Uninstall the app
Under GDPR and Swiss law, you also have rights regarding the anonymous analytics data we collect. You can request to see, correct, or delete it by emailing us.
Data retention: Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days.
Age requirement: BUDGT is designed for users 13 and older.
